Dear colleagues!

Central Asian Foundation for Management Development greets all members again and glad to inform that CAMAN continues its activities in introduction of higher educational institutions accreditation in Central Asia considering development of international standards in business and economics education, and innovative approaches in business education.

One of the most well- known activities of CAMAN which received deep resonance throughout the Central Asia region is CAMEQ accreditation, which was promoted jointly with EMD/EQUIS, BEE/USAID and the Ministry of Education and Science of RK, and also Ministries of Education of other Republics of Central Asia (April 18-19, 2005). Eight higher educational institutions such as International Academy of Business (Kazakhstan), Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics (Kyrgystan), Management Academy under President of KR (Kyrgystan) successfully confirmed models and criteria of the institutional accreditation and several institutions such as Karaganda State University, Pavlodar University, International Business School "Kelazhak Ilmi", Tashkent, were awarded special diplomas of accreditation. "Zhetysu" Institute and Almaty Institute of Economics and Statistics took part in pilot accreditation. The positive result of accreditation is that those higher educational institutions which successfully passed accreditation and got diplomas confirming international quality are planning to get European international accreditation in 2007. At the same time a team of experts (12 persons) was trained who can render services to higher educational institutions in CA and help them to get prepared to public accreditation.

In CAMAN's Strategic Plan for 2006-2008 special attention is given to cooperation with the international accreditation agencies such as EFMD, CFMD, CEEMAN, and also with new agencies from the USA, Europe and CA (Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee, AACTR). Moreover, CAMAN will render assistance to higher educational institutions in search of international contacts and exchange of instructors of business disciplines. CAMAN initiates new projects in the field of sustainable partnership of institutions, businesses and all interested parties at the reformation stage of higher education. CAMAN will continue to issue the magazine "CAMAN Herald" where initiates open forum among teachers, businessmen, managers of companies to improve quality of business education, study and research of needs and demands of customers and clients of higher educational services.

In cooperation with the National Accreditation Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of RK, CAMAN plans to organize seminars for leaders of CA's Universities for the purpose of teaching and clarification of national and international accreditation strategy. CAMAN's consulting center unites efforts of leaders of higher educational institutions in CA, businessmen, clients and public representatives to learn and promote advanced experience of both local and international managers and disseminate their experience, that will allow to reveal more effective instruments for administrating higher educational institutions, business entities and human resources. Thus, CAMAN invites all its members to continue creative and mutually beneficial cooperation for the sake of successful development of business education in CA countries.

CAMAN invites all its members to take an active part in the roundtable "International accreditation: Experience of CA's higher educational institutions". Date of this interactive event will be announced additionally.
