Accreditation
In 1996, CAMAN initiated the work on accreditation of educational institutions and programs in management education in the Central Asian region. The main aim of this initiative is to introduce and promote a credible and internationally recognized regional accreditation system in Central Asia as an effective mechanism of quality insuring of local management education.
Today, in term of promotion and development of the accreditation system in the Central Asian region, CAMAN has done the following:
January 2002 - Started a joint project with efmd on working out a quality evaluation system in management education of Central Asia consistent with international standards. This project is financed by European Commission (BISTRO-TACIS). In the frame of this project:
- 3 Central-Asian experts studied probation period in Europe;
- CAMAN participated in the EQUAL international Committee (Birmingham, January 2002);
- A seminar for 11 universities on quality criterions and self assessment was conducted;
- Quality criterions and standards and quality assessment procedures were elaborated;
- Self-assessment and visiting of 4 pilot universities by academic audit group processes were finished;
- International conference on result dissemination of CAMAN pilot public accreditation in Central Asia was conducted;
- Work group on preparation and elaboration of Accreditation process managing system was created and works.
January 2002 - Signed a joint agreement with efmd, CEEMAN, RABE, FORUM, and RNEBE about mutual co-operation and assistance among all parties to create in Central Asia a Regional Quality Insurance System (Accreditation System) based on the CAMAN model and consistent with International Standards.
November 2001 - Signed an agreement with RNEBE / EdNet about strategic cooperation in general, and about the creation of a Central Asian Accreditation Center based on the CAMAN model in particular.
2000 - EQUAL invited CAMAN to become a member, and to co-operate in terms of quality insurance development in management education for Central Asia.
Almaty (1997), Tashkent (1998), Bishkek (1999) - Prepared, discussed and approved a first draft of CAMAN accreditation rules and directions for self-evaluation of educational institutes.
1996 - Created the first working group on preparation of accreditation's rules for Central Asia.
President of Kazakhstan recognized the importance of CAMAN experience in establishing an accreditation mechanism in Central Asia on November 30, 2000.

CAMAN Accreditation is:
- Institutional and specialized;
- Regional and international;
- Preparatory for other international accreditation systems;
- A specialized training process that gives an institution a chance to get for itself an external professional look;
- A dynamic model, presuming continuos changes of standards and criteria in a movable environment.
