Creation and development of a Central Asian Quality Assurance System Consistent with International Standards

Project duration: 12 months
The project contribute to the overall improvement of quality and international credibility in management education in Central Asia region, through:
- Transfer of European experience in launching and running of the EQUIS accreditation system.
- Provision of institutional capabilities and practical implementation support to CAMEQ, a theoretical model chosen by CAMAN as a basis of a regional accreditation system
- Training additional quality experts on international quality standards (methodology and implementation) to reach the critical mass of quality experts, thus making the accreditation system sustainable.
- General improvement of quality through audits and implementation of quality improvement systems for the first wave of schools joining the accreditation process and subsequently among other members CAMAN .
- Enhancement of co-operation, discussion and exchange of experience related to specific regional issues among academic institutions in Europe and Central Asia.
The overall objective of the project is to establish a credible, efficient and sustainable regional accreditation system in Central Asia.
With the assessment of quality levels in the Central Asian schools and confirmation of the status for some of them as regional level establishments some of the best students and professors will have a choice between getting top quality education in schools whose quality has been confirmed through regional accreditation or seeking it abroad. Therefore the project will reduce, to some extent, the risk of brain drain from the region.
The direct objective is to provide the Central Asian partners with systems, procedures and qualified resources so that they can launch and manage regional accreditation system.
Participation in the project of business schools of Kyrgyz Republic and Republic of Uzbekistan was supported by EURASIA foundation grant.
